Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a distressing incident, a fire erupted early in the morning at Netra station in Diamond Harbour, causing substantial damage to a leather factory and around 12 adjacent shops, including a food hotel. The blaze, which started at approximately 3 am, originated on platform number 2 of the Sealdah Diamond Harbor branch's Netra station.
Local residents observed the shops ablaze and promptly alerted the police and fire department. Firefighters from multiple units rushed to the scene to combat the flames, exacerbated by the explosion of several cylinders within the affected food hotel.
Although nearby residents and businessmen collaborated to control the fire, it had already consumed a significant portion of the market, shrouding the area in black smoke.
